    ViaNett Mini

    Body: MiniFun Mini SWB M-chassis
    Paint: Faskolor and Spazstix chrome
    Method: Paintbrush
Masking: "Homemade" machine-cut (borrowed from ViaNetts image hits on Google)
Stickers: Vinyl cut letters in reverse on the inside of the talk-Bubbles, ViaNett stickers and from supplied stickersheet

Quite a bit of work on this one. The world map and talking-bubbles (squares) mask were a bit of a pain to fit in one piece. Needed a lot of patching here and there to separate colors and prevent wrong colorlines around the squares. But it was nothing compared to the letters. My cutter does not like letters smaller than 5 millimeters, and so picking letters manually out of the cut sheet and manually lining them up before tacking them to transfer paper... I'm not sure I want to do that again.... A true PITA if you ask me...

            Mobil1 Racing

            Mobil1 Audi A5

            Body: Orcan Audi A5
            Paint: Faskolor
            Method: Paintbrush
            Masking: "Homemade" machine-cut
Stickers: Lights, grille and Audi logo on the back

Made to order... Mobil1 seems not to use this color scheme anymore. All the more fun to paint it. Finally made the letters even and with good edges. The trick? Let the paint set for a day before removing. And so, the "one-body-in-one-day" days are numbered.

Har du brukt faspearl white? Kult karosseri, men syntes hvitfargen ser litt eggehvit ut?

                        Badass drifter

                        Howdy

Here is a little fun project. I came across a picture of a Tamiya Formula 1 car that had flames on the chassis plate. It was awesome. After scanning the photos and the text I found out that he had used aqua printing.

This is a film with a print on it that is laid on water at a certain temperature, then sprayed with an activator liquid that dissolves the film holding the ink in the print in place. Then, with the ink floating on water, the object or part that you want the pattern printed on is slowly dipped, or submerged, through the film and into the water. In this process the print sticks to the parer, and viola: You have an awesome part. This can be done on any object you can think of in a number of different patterns.

And so the search for the needed appliances started. I found it through this address, www.kufanger.priv.no. And with some good advice from him and quite a bit of time on youtube, forums and searching through other informative sites (yeah-yeah, "aquadipping" searches can bring about some pretty interesting hits on google...) I was ready. And here are some pictures of my second project (the first was a PS3 controller).

CAR: Xray T3R that I am planning to build a drifter of. And so it seemed the right object to start with.
PAINT: White primer on sanded graphite parts. Dipped within 24 hours (as I read it was best to dip before the paint had cured 100% for better adherence/sticking better to the paint) after primer applied. Finished with 5 layers of clear coat, auto-grade for best possible "bashability".
SERVO: Same shit. But picked it to pieces first. Anodized metal on servo polished. Motor will recieve the same treatment.
RECIEVER: Yepp, you guessed it, same shit...

                        And then, some pictures:

Oh, by the way, anybody have any white cables (12AWG) sitting around not being used? Black or color won't do here...

                                Oakley Mini

Body: Tamiya 2006 Mini LWB M-chassis
                                Paint: Faskolor and Spazstix

                                Stickers: None

This idea came up one day in a Oakley store in Texas. Talking about the various Oakley stuff I have amassed, I suddenly realized a Oakley Vault idea might be good. Fairly happy with the idea. The work certainly had it's faults though. Melted paint as I quick dried it (which bubbles the paint and the paint won't stick as well) and took of the masking too soon, tearing up paint along the way.
                                LEAVE THE MAIN MASKS OVERNIGHT!!!
But again, the way it looks out of the spraying booth wasn't that bad I thought...
